Haha, no of course you didn't And I understand about mood affecting your work, I'm often the same though I express myself more openly theatrically rather than through my drawing. I draw my inspiration mainly from an author called Clive Barker, he's quite well known but he's one of those people who everyone's heard of but no one can remember... Though I like that particular about him. His work is incredibly dark and surreal, even his stuff that he writes for children he illustrates with a dark macabre feel to it. I also tend to include everyday things into my inspiration, my picture of Unruhe gets it title from an episode of the X-files, and sometimes when I'm walking or sitting on the train, left to my own devices things just pop into my head. Like yourself I have lots of ideas but I lack the will and the necessary practice to see them through (Not that in anyway do I think you're pictures are bad).
I have heard of Banksy, he's well known here in England. The others I haven't heard of... TO GOOGLE IMAGES!! *A minute Passes* I like Varo's work. Very nice ^^
I did an entire A level project on Surrealism and Dark Art, since then I've lost most of the artists names, but here are a few that might either intrigue you or repulse you: Gunter Brus, Francis Bacon, Roberto Matta, Maurizio Cattelan(My favourite sculptor), Antony Gormley, And Cornelia Parker. All of them strange, there was another, who I think you'd really like, but after 60 minutes of searching for the life of me I can't find her ¬_¬.
